Why can’t PR be all that she could be?

By José M. López Sierra – Puerto Rico

The following video shows clearly how the United States (US) government (USG) purposely distorts reality in order to engage Puerto Ricans in a discourse that only benefits it.

Senator Wyden spoke about the US being founded on the principals of morality, democracy and the consent of the governed. Yet, his government violated all those principals with regards to Puerto Rico. Click on the following link to watch that video: https://youtu.be/Y-kv_2JR6kM

Where were those principals when the USG militarily invaded Puerto Rico to make her its colony 123 years ago?

Where are those principals when the USG has never complied with the United Nations’ Charter that prohibits colonialism since 1945, because it is a crime against humanity?

Where are those principals when the USG has ignored 40 UN resolutions asking it to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otzBslJLbI0

Senator Wyden lied when he said that any USG endorsement of a Puerto Rico political status plebiscite must be approved by the US Judiciary to make sure that it conforms to US law. The fact of the matter is that decolonization is never under the jurisdiction of the empire. It is always under the jurisdiction of international law!

Puerto Rico political status hearings in Washington are useless for Puerto Ricans. They only serve the USG’ interest of maintaining Puerto Rico as its colony forever.

Puerto Ricans, through self-education, should rather engage in permanent resistance to force the USG to comply with international law. If we realize that the USG gets 74 billion dollars a year for having Puerto Rico as its colony, we would then understand why we will have to force it to decolonize us. That is our money! http://www.todosunidosdescolonizarpr.blogspot.com/

If we learn our history we would know what to do!
