US taxes given to oligarchs

By José M. López Sierra – Puerto Rico

The United States (US) refuses to tax her rich citizens. The US prefers to rather borrow the money to operate her government. That means that the money rich people avoided paying taxes on, is instead lent to the government with interest. Therefore, the 99% of US taxpayers are making the US rich even richer! Despite political elections every 4 years, our government does not govern for 100% of her citizens. We should have understood that very well when the US became the epicenter of the coronavirus with over a million deaths, while 8 of the 10 richest men in the world are US citizens.

Moreover, the US has ignored 41 United Nations (UN) resolutions asking her to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. This month, the UN will once again hold its annual Puerto Rico decolonization hearing, and again issue yet another similar resolution. Does that sound like the US is the champion of democracy or plutocracy? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otzBslJLbI0

Americans don’t have a government of, by and for the people. That is why 38 million US citizens live in poverty today, while the People’s Republic of China has eradicated their own poverty, despite having 4 times the US’ population!

The American Dream is only for the rich!
