US Independence Day is a plutocratic celebration

By José M. López Sierra – Puerto Rico

Why is the United States (US) not a democracy? Why are 8 of the 10 richest men in the world US citizens? Why is the US the epicenter of the coronavirus with over a million deaths? Why is the US spending so much money fighting Russia and China, while her own citizens are suffering at home? Why are the Republican and Democratic US Political Parties not representing 99% of their citizens?

The Americans Revolution was about the 1% in England fighting against the 1% in the English colonies. So naturally, the US was created to represent the 1% of the new citizens of the US. The US calls that the “rule-based order”. Here is a great example.

The US militarily invaded Puerto Rico in 1898 to make her a US colony. Today, the US and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) have sanctioned Russia for militarily invading Ukraine. Despite the fact that the US has started 80% of all wars after World War II, nobody, including the United Nations (UN) have ever economically sanctioned the US. How does that contribute to insuring world peace?

The US has maintained Puerto Rico as her colony for the past 124 years. Thus, the US has never complied with the UN’s Charter of 1945 that prohibits colonialism for being a crime against humanity. Moreover, the US has ignored, so far, 41 UN resolutions asking her to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. No wonder the US and NATO refuse to talk about international law! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otzBslJLbI0

Therefore, it is incumbent on the 99% of humanity to create a world order where all civilizations could exist, while making this “US civilization of death” impossible of existing. https://todosunidosdescolonizarpr.blogspot.com/

American Revolution was among plutocracies.
