The US against democracy

By José M. López Sierra – Puerto Rico

The United States (US) says that it wants to spread democracy all over the world, but in practice, it violently refuses democracy when it goes against the wishes of US oligarchs. Please click on the following link for more: https://youtu.be/bMLyf9hoV6Y

Far from Israel achieving the resignation of the United Nations’ (UN) Secretary General, 80% of the General Assembly instead demanded a permanent cease fire in Gaza, while the US and Israel were among only 10 nations to oppose it. The world has long regarded the US as the biggest threat to peace according to Gallop Polls. This is just one more powerful example of why that is!

Another example is the US’ consistent refusal to comply with 42 UN resolutions asking it to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. Thus, the US is willfully committing a crime against humanity! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otzBslJLbI0

Moreover, how could the US stand for democracy, when 38 million Americans live in poverty today? Conversely, and more consistent with the US being instead the champion of plutocracy, 8 of the 10 richest men in the world are today US citizens.

This would be a great time for the 153 nations that voted for the cease fire to do a lot for democracy by refusing to continue to have US military bases in their counties. The US uses its 800 military bases to sabotage a nation’s sovereignty. That, in turn, sabotages the purpose of the UN.

War is the US Military Industrial Complex’s racket!
