Someone finally takes Israel to court!

By José M. López Sierra – Puerto Rico

South Africa had the guts to charge the artificial colonial settler state of Israel of committing genocide against the Palestinians in Palestine at the United Nations’ (UN) International Court of Justice (ICJ). Please click this link for more: https://youtu.be/JyrfqlxRaFo

You would have thought that the United States (US), the self-proclaim “champion of democracy”, would have quickly done what South Africa did. But, on the contrary, the US has been Israel’s unconditional supporter of its war crimes against the Palestinians that include collective punishment, ethnic cleansing and genocide. The US’ behavior is indicative of adhering to its own so-called “Rules Based Order” (RBO). RBO, of course, is a euphemism for US imperialism.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued a fast track arrest warrant for President Putin, in regards to his special military operation in Ukraine, for allegedly having met only one of the five elements of genocide. The ICC, however, has not yet issued arrest warrants for Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Biden for having met all of the elements of genocide. That means that both the ICJ and the ICC are under the US’ “Rules Based Order”, and not under international law.

It is important to mention that 90% of the world’s population voted at the UN’s Security Council for a ceasefire in Gaza. The US, however, was among only 10% of the world’s population that wanted Israel to continue with its war crimes and crimes against humanity against the Palestinians in their homeland. Wasn’t that exactly what the US did to the indigenous people in America to establish its own artificial colonial settler state?

South Africa is more of a champion of democracy than the US.

US’ “democracy” is a threat to peace!
