How much is the US debt to PR?

by Jose M. Lopez Sierra – New York City

The United States (US) government has everybody talking about Puerto Rico’s huge debt to Wall Street. The US government installed the Federal Fiscal Control Board to force Puerto Ricans to pay their debt. Why don’t people ask, how could a colony have a debt? How could a slave have a debt?

If Puerto Rico really had a government, it would be demanding that the US government pay its debt to Puerto Ricans. You must know history to understand this. If you don’t, that’s perfectly understandable, because the US government will never teach you the real history in its schools and mass media. You will have to learn it on your own. Like I did!

The US government owes Puerto Ricans at least 10 times what it says we owe it. Why aren’t Puerto Ricans demanding that the US government pay them? They don’t, because we have been programed, after 120 years of being molded in its schools and media, to believe whatever the US government says. That’s why so many people and businesses boycotted this year’s New York Puerto Rican Day Parade, because it honored Oscar Lopez Rivera. Puerto Rico does not have self – government. Puerto Rico is not a democracy. Puerto Rico is a US colony since 1898. That is why Puerto Rico isn’t governed for Puerto Ricans. That is why Puerto Ricans don’t have opportunities in Puerto Rico. That is why Puerto Ricans must leave their island, and now more are out than in. That is why Puerto Ricans join the US military at the highest level than any of the 50 states of the Union? That is why Puerto Rico has more Walgreen pharmacies than 60% of the 50 states of the Union. That is why we import 80% of the food we eat instead of growing it ourselves. That is why we use the most expensive shipping in the world. And, that is why almost half of the Puerto Ricans in Puerto Rico live below the poverty line. Are Puerto Ricans living the American Dream?

The US government never talks about this, because then people would know that it is committing a crime against humanity. People would know that in 1960 the United Nations declared colonialism a crime against humanity. People would know that the US government is the real terrorist, and not Oscar Lopez Rivera. People would know that Oscar has the right to use any means necessary to decolonize his homeland. And that, instead of boycotting Oscar, people should be protesting every day to force the US government to comply with the 36 UN resolutions asking it to immediately give Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans.

We need a tsunami of people to do this, because those who hide history to continue to exploit people don’t believe in LIBERTY AND IN JUSTICE FOR ALL! https://www.facebook.com/groups/1697349163904877/
