Who is responsible for your government?

By José M. López Sierra – Puerto Rico

The United States Government (USG) has established itself during its 244 year history as a war nation. It has been at war over 90% of its existence. It is no wonder that the world considers the USG as the biggest threat to world peace? https://www.indepthnews.net/index.php/opinion/3227-u-s-is-greatest-threat-to-world-peace

The USG made Puerto Rico its colony 121 years ago. In doing so, it has violated the United Nations’ (UN) Charter that prohibits colonialism since its establishment, and 38 UN resolutions asking it to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. http://webtv.un.org/watch/5th-meeting-committee-of-24-special-committee-on-decolonization/6051725003001/

The most decorated major general of the United States (US) Marine Corps, Smedley Butler, wrote a book in 1935 to alert US citizens that the USG uses wars for profit. The book’s title is, “War is a Racket”. Not too many people paid any attention to it. Click here to read it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26O-2SVcrw0&t=26s

The USG has 800 military installations in 80 countries all over the world. Yet, half of its citizens live either in poverty or near it, there is no universal health care for them, there are 22 empty homes for every homeless person, half of all members of Congress are millionaires, and 1% of US citizens are at least millionaires. And, to this, US students pledge allegiance to their nation everyday by saying, “…one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

How could US citizens call their country a democracy? Noam Chomsky offered an excellent explanation. He said, “Most people don’t know what is going on around them, and, even worse, they don’t even realize that they don’t.” Obviously, US schools are not truly educating their students! https://youtu.be/eYHQcXVp4F4

The fact of the matter is that the 1% is guilty of treason? The 99% are not doing anything about it, because they believe they have a government of the people, by the people and for the people.

We are the ones responsible for our government. But first, we must inform ourselves independently of the 1% brainwashing educational system of imposed ignorance. We should not allow the 1% to act in our names for the sole purpose of making themselves richer!

This is what Thomas Jefferson said: “Governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, …that whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute a new government.” I believe that we are there.

We must engage in permanent resistance to force the government to represent 100% of its citizens. We must, because those who commit treason don’t believe in LIBERTY AND IN JUSTICE FOR ALL! https://www.facebook.com/groups/1697349163904877/

Will “We the people” demand a real democracy?

Jose M Lopez Ismael
