What’s behind MAGA?

By José M. López Sierra – Puerto Rico

Rich people became rich via slavery. Slaves revolted to end that.

Rich people continued being rich via feudalism. Serfs revolted to end that too.

Presently, rich people continued being rich via capitalism. The global majority is revolting against capitalism, and BRICS today has surpassed the G7’s GDP by 7%. And thus, the United States’ (US) Empire feels threatened.

What is behind President Trump’s «MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN» (MAGA) is to make US oligarchs remain rich forever. We know that, because 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are Americans, while 40 million Americans live in poverty, and another 201 million more live from paycheck to paycheck.

We also know that, because the US has consistently refused to comply with 42 United Nations’ resolutions demanding the immediate return of Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. And in the meantime, 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned their national territory (gentrification), and half of the 3 million people in Puerto Rico live in poverty. This year’s UN Puerto Rico decolonization hearing will be on Monday, June 16, 2025.

Therefore, when the US claims that the People’s Republic of China is America’s biggest threat, what it means is that it is, but only to US oligarchs. The world has already determined via endless polls that the US is the biggest threat to peace!

MAGA has nothing to do with democracy.
