US wants PR colonialism forever

By José M. López Sierra – Puerto Rico

InfoAlDesnudo

The following video falsely states that, at the time of the United States’ (US) military invasion of Puerto Rico in 1898, she was a colony of Spain. The fact is that Puerto Rico had recently become a province of Spain in 1987 with full representation in the Spanish Parliament. The US labeled Puerto Rico as a “non-incorporated territory”, because she views Puerto Ricans as belonging to an inferior race. The US attaches that category to territories that will never be considered for US statehood. And that is the reason why, after 124 years, Puerto Rico remains a US colony. Missing from that video too is the fact that the US is a criminal, under international law, for refusing to decolonize Puerto Rico.

The US refused to comply with the United Nations’ (UN) Charter of 1945 that prohibits colonialism for being a crime against humanity. Moreover, the US has repeatedly refused to comply with 41 UN resolutions asking her to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otzBslJLbI0

Since the US has never been a real democracy, the only hope for Puerto Rico decolonization is for the 9 million Puerto Ricans worldwide to engage in permanent resistance to force the US to comply with international law. If not, Puerto Rico will continue to be a US colony now tomorrow and forever. https://todosunidosdescolonizarpr.blogspot.com/

Break the vicious PR colonial cycle!

Jose M Lopez Ismael
