US imperialism through strength

By José M. López Sierra – Puerto Rico

The United States (US) has never seeked peace through strength. Endless polls have confirmed that the world considers the US as the biggest threat to peace. And yet, the US, in the following video, claims that it is for peace. Please click on the following link to watch US propaganda that goes against its own history: https://youtu.be/HuN5aiujNGs

The world, including the US, acknowledges that Taiwan is part of the People’s Republic of China. And yet, the US insists in meddling in the internal affairs of China against international law. How could this be the US wanting peace?

The US has destroyed Ukraine by fighting a proxy war against the Russian Federation in order to steal her resources against international law. How could that be the US seeking peace?

The US has unconditionally supported the genocide against the indigenous people of Palestine against international law. How could that be the US seeking peace?

And, the US has consistently refused to comply with 42 United Nations’ resolutions demanding the immediate return of Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. And in the meantime, 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned their national territory (gentrification), and half of the 3 million people in Puerto Rico live in poverty. This year’s UN Puerto Rico decolonization hearing will be on Monday, June 16, 2025. How could that be the US seeking peace?

It is important to mention that the US today has 40 million of its own citizens living in poverty, and another 201 million more living from paycheck to paycheck, while 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are US citizens too. Where is the peace for the 97% of US employees?

Peace through strength, my eye!

Jose M Lopez Ismael
