The United States Government (USG) classified Puerto Ricans as an inferior race 122 years after its own declaration of independence from the British. Then, it classified Puerto Rico as an unincorporated territory to avoid extending its Constitution to the Puerto Ricans. And that was how the USG set the stage to have had Puerto Rico as its colony for the past 120 years. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRHGdhRBG1M&t=44s

After World War II put an end to Adolf Hitler’s racism, the United Nation (UN) was born to try to help ensure that war would not be used again to settle differences between countries.

The UN’s Charter prohibits colonialism, because the international community regards it as a crime against humanity, and a threat to world peace.

Ironically, the USG that was the nation that most encouraged the creation of the UN is also the one that has violated for the past 73 years the UN’s Charter, because of its racism and interest in profit over human rights. Moreover, it has ignored 37 UN resolutions asking it to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otzBslJLbI0

Therefore, all good people of are obligated by their conscience to engage in permanent resistance to force the USG to comply with international law and decolonize Puerto Rico. We must get involved, because racists don’t believe in LIBERTY AND IN JUSTICE FOR ALL! https://www.facebook.com/groups/1697349163904877/

Should we care that our government doesn’t represent us?

Jose M Lopez Ismael
