US’ downfall

By Jose M. Lopez Sierra – Puerto Rico

The United States’ (US) downfall is due to its refusal to be a real democracy.

That is why the US deindustrialized in the 1980’s, in order to benefit the 3% of its employer class. Moving US industry abroad helped capitalists make more money by paying workers less. That is what killed the «American Dream».

The American nightmare of today is 40 million US citizens living in poverty, and 201 million more living from paycheck to paycheck, while 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are US citizens too.

The American nightmare of today is the US unconditionally supporting the genocide against the indigenous people of Palestine against international law.

The American nightmare of today is the US starting the war in Ukraine in order to steal the resources of the Russian Federation, and preparing to do the same against the People’s Republic of China. By the way, China has eradicated poverty since 2020, despite having 4 times the US’ population. Now we know why the US won’t do the same!

The American nightmare of today is the US pretending that it wants peace with Iran, while helping Israel militarily attack her in order to maintain US hegemony in West Asia.

And the American nightmare of today is the US consistently ignoring 42 United Nations’ (UN) resolutions demanding the immediate return of Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. In the meantime, 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned their national territory (gentrification), and half of the 3 million people in Puerto Rico live in poverty too. The UN’s annual Puerto Rico decolonization hearing will be on Monday, June 16, 2025.

A new multipolar world order has been created by the global majority in which the US Empire will inevitably fall. The cracks in the empire are evident by the massive protests by Americans in various states against their own government’s policies against them and humanity.

Can the 97% of Americans create a real champion of democracy?
