Trump’s trade war was never about benefitting all Americans. It was always about trying to maintain US imperialism alive forever.
The US doesn’t care about its 40 million citizens who live in poverty, or the 201 million more who live from paycheck to paycheck. It only cares about making the conditions possible so that 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are Americans.
The US doesn’t care about democracy and the rule of law. That is why the US has refused to comply with 42 United Nations’ resolutions demanding the immediate return of Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned their national territory in the meantime (gentrification), and half the people in Puerto Rico live in poverty too!
The US said that it would turn Russia’s ruble into rubble, when it began its war in Ukraine to destroy the Russian Federation. Isn’t it ironic that today it has been the US dollar that is turning into rubble?
Therefore, if the US really wants to be the champion of democracy that it claims to be, it must change from America First to Democracy First.
