Carmen herself doesn’t get the entire picture. She talked about, …to empower Puerto Ricans to defend their rights as citizens. What she doesn’t get is that slaves have no rights that the slave master must respect. Carmen did say something that is right on target. She said, “We must wake up, and stop allowing it!” That sounds like the Puerto Rican Revolutionary Hymn, “Despierta borinqueño que han dado la señal”.
