Independence impossible via elections

By José M. López Sierra – Puerto Rico

The independence of Puerto Rico is impossible via the electoral process. Why?

The United States (US) government (USG) invaded Puerto Rico 123 years ago to make her its colony. The USG extracts 70 billion dollars a year from Puerto Rico, while it invests only 4 billion. Who could get a better deal than that?

Today, more Puerto Ricans live away from our national territory than in. Why is that?

The following video never mentioned that people living under colonialism have no rights that the empire has to respect. Therefore, democratic elections are impossible in a colony. The only purpose they serve is to try to hide Puerto Rico’s colonialism from everyone. Click on the following link to watch that video: https://youtu.be/qX_Rkf3ZXnw

The USG allows elections in Puerto Rico, so that Puerto Ricans could fight among ourselves about remaining a colony (Popular Democratic Party), becoming a state of the Union (New Progressive Party), or becoming an independent nation (Puerto Rico Independence Party). The USG’s strategy is called, “divide and conquer”. But, because the USG has indoctrinated Puerto Ricans into believing that we live in a democracy, most Puerto Ricans have not been able to figure out that the USG wants Puerto Rico as its colony now, tomorrow and forever.

Most Puerto Ricans, many of whom vote, are unaware that the United Nations (UN) prohibits colonialism in its 1945 Charter, because it is a crime against humanity. That means that the USG, has been committing a crime against humanity for the past 76 years by refusing to decolonize Puerto Rico!

Most Puerto Ricans, many of whom vote, are unaware that the USG has ignored 39 UN resolutions asking it to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. http://webtv.un.org/watch/5th-meeting-committee-of-24-special-committee-on-decolonization/6051725003001

If Puerto Ricans want our own real government to represent us exclusively, we must engage in permanent resistance to force the USG to comply with international law. If we don’t, the USG will gentrify our homeland, and make Puerto Rico the 51st state of its Union. www.TodosUnidosDescolonizarPR.blogspot.com

The ending of the video summed up most accurately my argument. The so called “senator”, Maria de Lourdes Santiago, did not denounce the USG’s crime against humanity. She said, instead, that, “Members of the Popular Democratic Party and the New Progressive Party go to prison for being thieves, while members of the Puerto Rican Independence Party go to prison for being patriots.”

Wake up before it’s too late!
