Does PR’s future depend on the US?

By José M. López Sierra – Puerto Rico

Today’s headline reads: Puerto Rico’s future is in the hands of the United States Supreme Court (USSC). Click on the following link to read about it:

Puerto Rico has been a colony for over 500 years. It is the oldest and most populated colony in the world. It is easy to then understand that Puerto Ricans have colonized minds. Each Puerto Rican must make an incredible personal effort to decolonize his own mind!

The fact of the matter is that Puerto Rico’s future is in the hands of Puerto Ricans, but most of us don’t even know it. That is because the United States Government (USG) has used the educational system, mass media, the movie industry, and television to brainwash our minds into believing what it wants us to believe.

Are you aware that the United Nations (UN) celebrates an annual hearing to discuss Puerto Rico decolonization usually on the Monday after Fathers’ Day? That is not mentioned in the news, and even the UN refuses to broadcast it live so that the whole world could watch it.

Are you aware that the USG has violated for the past 74 years the UN’s Charter that prohibits colonialism? Are you aware that the UN has one more year to conclude its 3rd international decade for the eradication of colonialism? Why isn’t that mentioned in the news like today’s headline about the USSC and Puerto Rico?

Are you aware that the USG has ignore 38 UN resolutions asking it to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans?

Therefore, if Puerto Ricans were to decolonize their minds by studying their real history, Puerto Rico’s future would be in our hands. Puerto Ricans could then engage in permanent resistance to force the USG to comply with international law, like we did to get rid of Ricky Roselló.

The USSC will not help Puerto Rico. It doesn’t even acknowledges that its own country is an outlaw state!

Get the real news yourself, because those who want us as their slaves forever don’t believe in LIBERTY AND IN JUSTICE FOR ALL!

Decolonize yourself first then our country.
