Capitalism isn’t democracy

By Jose M. Lopez Sierra – Puerto Rico

In order for people to enjoy democracy, the production of goods and services in a society must be organized democratically. That is why democracy is impossible in slavery, feudalism, and capitalism. Please click on the following link to get the details: https://youtu.be/t5LVrQG1hyQ

That is also why 40 million Americans today live in poverty, and 201 million more live from paycheck to paycheck, while 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are Americans.

And, that is why the US has consistently refused to comply with 42 United Nations’ (UN) resolutions demanding the immediate return of Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. In the meantime, 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned their national territory (gentrification), and half of the 3 million in Puerto Rico live in poverty too. The UN’s annual Puerto Rico decolonization hearing will be on Monday, June 16, 2025.

When President Roosevelt shifted capitalism in order to benefit 100% of US citizens via his «New Deal», the 3% of employers got mad at him, because they had to pay for it. They tried to overthrow his government, but US Marine Major General Smedly Butler blew the whistle, and the coup never happened.

Imperialism isn’t democracy either.
