Capitalism is inherently racist. Its support comes from racists who have never believed in democracy, human rights and the rule of law. Therefore, capitalism could never be the economic system for a real democracy.
Today, while 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are US citizens, 40 million Americans live in poverty, and 201 million more live from paycheck to paycheck. That is a plutocracy!
Moreover, the US has consistently refused to comply with 42 United Nations’ resolutions demanding the immediate return of Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned their national territory in the meantime (gentrification), and half of the people in Puerto Rico live in poverty too! That is imperialism!
The most dramatic example of US imperialism today is its unconditional support for the genocide against the indigenous people of Palestine against international law.
Democracy requires substituting capitalism.
