BRICS needs digital sovereignty

It’s not enough to dismantle the United States’ (US) exorbitant privilege of its dollar, but also the exorbitant privilege of its control of the Internet. Please click on this link to understand why it is important that BRICS creates its own digital sovereignty independent of the US: https://youtu.be/dIsKRf8pohQ

The US uses the Internet to control information in order to maintain its imperialism. BRICS, on the other hand, wants to create a multipolar world order that would allow nations to enjoy democracy. Digital sovereignty therefore becomes indispensable!

The US’ unipolar world order has 40 million Americans living in poverty, and 201 million more living from paycheck to paycheck, while 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are also Americans. The People’s Republic of China, on the other hand, has eradicated poverty in 2020, despite having 4 times the US’ population. Who could more legitimately claim to be the champion of democracy?

Moreover, the US has consistently refused to comply with 42 United Nations’ resolutions demanding the immediate return of Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned their national territory in the meantime (gentrification), and half of the 3 million people in Puerto Rico live in poverty! The UN’s Puerto Rico decolonization hearing this year will be on Monday, June 16, 2025.

Democracy is rooted entirely in the people’s sovereignty.
