Military industry’s assault on US democracy

President Eisenhower’s last address to the nation warned us about the permanent risk that the United States’ (US) newly created military industrial complex poses on our aspirations of liberty and peace. The US citizens did not heed the president’s warning!
Today, the US government (USG) spends more on its military, than the next 20 countries spend on their militaries combined. And that is why the USG has no money for social programs for the 99% of its citizens.
The USG exists in order to constantly be at war. Major General Smedley Butler said the same thing, before President Eisenhower did, in his book, “War is a racket.” Thus, it is no wonder that the world regards the USG as our biggest threat to peace!
That profit making mentality was what motivated the USG to militarily invade Puerto Rico 123 years ago to make her its colony. That has motivated the USG to never have complied with the United Nations’ (UN) Charter that prohibits colonialism for the past 76 years. And that has motivated the USG to have ignored with impunity 39 UN resolutions asking it to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. http://webtv.un.org/watch/5th-meeting-committee-of-24-special-committee-on-decolonization/6051725003001
The UN will hold its annual hearing on Puerto Rico decolonization later this month. The UN will issue its 40th resolution. Will the USG act any differently? No!
We need to wake up to what president Eisenhower, General Butler, and the 39 UN resolutions are all warning us about. There is no US democracy. There is only a 1% of US citizens that are making huge profits at our expense! http://www.todosunidosdescolonizarpr.blogspot.com/
Don’t allow the 1% to roll its tank over us!
