Why does US lie?

By José M. López Sierra – Puerto Rico

The United States (US) lies, because she is not the champion of democracy and human rights. That is why the US can’t have a free press, and is also why Julian Assange is in prison today.

US secretary of state Anthony Blinken was in the People’s Republic of China recently. Please click on the following link to hear the lies he said: https://youtu.be/94i9zCytTUw

Let’s just analyze this one: “The US will always stand up for the interests and values of the American people and work with its allies and partners to advance our vision for a world that is free, open, and upholds the international rules-based order.”

Lie 1: Is the interests and values of the American people being defended by the US when 38 million Americans live today in poverty, while 8 of the 10 richest men in the world are US citizens? China, on the other hand, has already eliminated her poverty, despite having 4 times the US’ population. 40% of US citizens are presently satisfied with our government, while over 90% of Chinese are presently satisfied with theirs. Which one is the democracy today?

Lie 2: It is important to note that Blinken used “international rules-based order” instead of international law. Is the US advancing a vision for a world that is free, open, and upholds international law when she has ignored 41 United Nations (UN) resolutions asking her to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans? How could the US say that she supports Taiwan’s inalienable right to self-determination and independence, when the US has had Puerto Rico as her colony for the past 125 year! The UN will once again hold its annual Puerto Rico decolonization hearing on Thursday, June 22, 2023. You will be able to watch the hearing live on https://media.un.org/en/asset/k10/k10ooxyqfm.

The US lies, because she is a plutocracy!
