Why become the family of a criminal?

By José M. López Sierra – Puerto Rico

The so-called “Resident Commissioner”, Jennifer González Colón, of the so-called, “Government of Puerto Rico” is asking the United States (US) government (USG) to admit Puerto Rico as a state of the Union. Click on the following link to watch that video: https://youtu.be/LyjW7bWcZnU

She argued that Puerto Rico should be admitted into the Union, because Puerto Ricans have fought in US wars defending “democracy and freedom”. How could she not know that that is a lie!

The USG militarily invaded Puerto Rico to make her, on the contrary, a US colony in 1898. The USG has maintained Puerto Rico as its colony for the past 123 years with impunity. It is important to mention that Puerto Rico was already a province a Spain at the time of the US invasion. Where is the freedom and democracy in that?

How could Jennifer not know that the USG has never complied with the United Nations’ (UN) Charter that prohibits colonialism since 1945? How could she not know that the USG has ignored 40 UN resolutions asking it to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otzBslJLbI0

Far from the US being a democracy, she is an outlaw state! That is what US Major Smedley Butler warned us about in his book, “War is a Racket”. That is what US President Eisenhower warned us about in reference to the US Military Industrial Complex. And, that is why the world regards the USG as the biggest threat to peace!

Why should Puerto Rico be permanently integrated into an outlaw state? Why should Puerto Rico seek equality with a criminal?

Jennifer, if she knew better, would instead be engaged in permanent resistance to force the USG to comply with international law. The 9 million Puerto Ricans world-wide should be doing that too. https://todosunidosdescolonizarpr.blogspot.com/

Puerto Ricans should not become criminals too!
