Who won the Cold War?

By José M. López Sierra – Puerto Rico

The United States (US) says that she won the Cold War in 1991. The US says that “democracy” had beaten “autocracy”. Please click on the following link to watch President Bush celebrate that victory: https://youtu.be/LBVwzXUfnf8

If that is true, is humanity better off today?

At the time of that video, Puerto Rico had been a US colony for 93 years. Today, the US has ignored 41 United Nations (UN) resolutions asking her to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. Next month, the UN will once again hold its annual Puerto Rico decolonization hearing, and again issue yet another similar resolution. Does that sound like democracy has won? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otzBslJLbI0

The US has 38 million of her own citizens living in poverty today, while 8 of the 10 richest men in the world are US citizens. Does that sound like democracy?

Conversely, the People’s Republic of China has already eradicated poverty at home, while having 4 times the US’ population. Does that sound like autocracy?

The US is right now trying to push the world into a nuclear war with the Russian Federation and China, in order to try to maintain her hegemony. If she is successful, we would all die. Does that sound like democracy?

The world does not believe that the US is a democracy, because, in repeated Gallop Polls, the world has named the US as the biggest threat to peace. Therefore, the US is obviously a plutocracy.

Can the world save herself from the real autocracy?

Can the world win the proxy war between the US and Russia in Ukraine?
