What does democracy look like?

It is important to mention that over 90% of Chinese are satisfied with their government, while only 40% of US citizens are satisfied with ours!
President Xi believes that “people’s democracy is the life blood of socialism, and it is integral to our effort to build a modern socialist country in all respects.” This belief has led to China’s eradication of poverty, despite having 4 times the US’ population. The US however, while claiming to be the champion of democracy, still has today 38 million Americans living in poverty.
It is not enough to just say you’re a democracy.
