What “American Dream”?

By José M. López Sierra – Puerto Rico

InfoAlDesnudo

The fact of the matter is that that “American Dream” is for only the 1% of United States (US) citizens. For the rest of us, it’s a nightmare!

The US coronavirus epicenter has graphically illustrated to the world what US capitalism represents to the 99% of US citizens. The 1% has become even richer during the pandemic, while the rest of us have become poorer. Click on the following link to hear about the American Nightmare: https://youtu.be/JHDkALRz5Rk

It certainly was not an American dream for the slaves. And if Blacks were US citizens after the US Civil War, why did they have to protest for their civil rights? They did, because the US government (USG) continued to hold fast to its belief that “Blacks have no rights that Whites have to respect”. Therefore, the so-called “Civil Rights Movement” was in fact the “Slaves’ Insurrection of the 1960’s”.

Today, sparked by George Floyd’s assassination by the police, there are massive protests all over the US and the world calling for the eradication of institutionalized racism.

Before that, the United Nations (UN) called on the USG to decolonize Puerto Rico 75 years ago, because that is a crime against humanity. The USG has refused to do so. The UN has asked repeatedly via 38 resolutions to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. Not only has the USG ignored these resolutions, but it has, instead, insisted that Puerto Ricans have a huge debt that we must settle. And to ensure that, the USG has installed unilaterally, a “Fiscal Controlled Board”. http://webtv.un.org/watch/5th-meeting-committee-of-24-special-committee-on-decolonization/6051725003001/

This is the perfect time to all people of good will to create a new civilization promoting a new “World Dream” for everybody. Let’s do that, because those who have always enjoyed “The American Dream” have never wanted LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL! http://www.todosunidosdescolonizarpr.blogspot.com/

Let’s create a World Dream!
