US’ defense of “democracy”

By José M. López Sierra – Puerto Rico

If the United States (US) is really defending democracy around the world, why does the world, according to Gallup Polls, see her as the biggest threat to peace? It is, because the definition of democracy for the US is not the same as in the dictionary.

According to the above picture, the US considers Ukraine and Niger (before the coup) to be democracies. The People’s Republic of China, however, according to the US, is not. Which of these citizens are satisfied with their governments?

More than 90% of Chinese are satisfied with their government, while only 40% of US citizens are satisfied with ours. Why is that?

China has already eradicated poverty at home, while having 4 times the US’ population. The US, on the other hand, still has 38 million Americans living in poverty. What is the use of having “US democracy” if the people don’t benefit from it.

2 thirds of Puerto Ricans live away from our national territory. How could that be democracy?

Half of the Puerto Ricans who have remained in Puerto Rico live in poverty. How could that be democracy?

The US has refused to comply with 42 United Nations resolutions asking her to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. How could that be democracy? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otzBslJLbI0

Who benefits from the so-called “US democracy”? US oligarchs do. 8 of the 10 richest men in the world are US citizens!

“US democracy” is a nightmare for the world!
