Do you know that Puerto Rico has been a colony of the United States (US) since 1898? Do you know that in 1960 the United Nations (UN) declared colonialism a crime against humanity? Do you know that the UN has asked the US government in 35 resolutions to immediately decolonize Puerto Rico, and it has ignored them all?
Not only has the US government refused to decolonize Puerto Rico, President Obama signed into law the Puerto Rico Fiscal Control Board to be above the Puerto Rico colonial government. Thus, the United States government does not really believe in human rights, the rule of law or democracy. The UN has never broadcasted live its annual hearing about Puerto Rico decolonization. We believe that the only one this helps is the one committing the crime. This year, and against the UN’s lack of cooperation, United Comrades for Puerto Rico Decolonization and Naked Information Radio and Television of New York City broadcasted live the June 20, 2016 hearing for the world to watch. We do not advocate participating in the Puerto Rico elections, because you can’t have a democracy within a colony.
