Slavery now, tomorrow and forever

Why did 11 states secede from the Union of the United States (US) of America? They wanted to continue with the institution of slavery. Although that was clearly expressed before the start of the Civil War, after the war, the Confederate States masked it with “The Lost Cause”. Despite the Confederate States’ loss, the US has always been a nation governed by white supremacy. Take the case of Puerto Rico.

The US government (USG) military invaded Puerto Rico to make her its colony in 1898. That occurred 33 years after the US Civil War.

The USG has never complied with the United Nations’ (UN) Charter of 1945 that prohibits colonialism, because it is a crime against humanity. That was after the Civil War too.

The USG has also ignored since then 40 UN resolutions asking it to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otzBslJLbI0

If, as President Lincoln stated in 1863, that the US is a nation conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal, why has the USG violated the human rights of Puerto Ricans for the past 123 years?

We must all engage in permanent resistance to force the USG to comply with international law. If we don’t, a third world war will also be fought over imperialism. And that will probably be our last! https://todosunidosdescolonizarpr.blogspot.com/
