See you next year

United Comrades for Puerto Rico Decolonization (“Compañeros Unidos para la Descolonización de Puerto Rico”) will not participate in this year’s Puerto Rico decolonization hearing at the United Nations (UN) on Monday, June 22, 2020. We don’t know what the UN is going to do, because of the coronavirus pandemic.

But since we always have an annual march from Hunter College to the UN on the same day of the hearing to make people aware that Puerto Rico has been a colony of the United States (US) for the past 121 years, we decided to cancel for this year. We will be back next year to continue to make people aware that the US government (USG) is committing a crime against humanity by refusing to comply with the UN’s Charter that prohibits colonialism since 1945, and 38 UN resolutions asking it to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. http://webtv.un.org/watch/5th-meeting-committee-of-24-special-committee-on-decolonization/6051725003001/

Our goal is to create a tsunami of people to engage in permanent resistance to force the USG to comply with international law and decolonize Puerto Rico.

You could see the same mentality that the USG has demonstrated with Puerto Rico, with the USG rushing to open its economy even though it knows that US citizens will be at risk of contracting the coronavirus. It does this, because the USG governs for the 0.1% of its citizens!

Therefore, “We the People” must make our government represent 100% of us. We will need to organize to do that, because those who love wealth more than humanity, don’t believe in LIBERTY AND IN JUSTICE FOR ALL! https://todosunidosdescolonizarpr.blogspot.com/

Stay safe in the meantime!
