Puerto Ricans must empower ourselves

By José M. López Sierra – Puerto Rico

How convenient for the United States Government (USG) that in the discourse concerning how to help Puerto Ricans, that candidates for president never acknowledge that their country is committing a crime against humanity for having Puerto Rico as her colony for the past 121 years. It is as though that doesn’t exist! Click on the following link to see that blackout: https://berniesanders.com/issues/end-humanitarian-crisis-and-empower-people-puerto-rico/?fbclid=IwAR2A6kvCnOTxjDjmMb2V8afDpqKzG2_S7xbftMJehsxu3_3dOfA7_HwGDXU

That horrible state of affairs depicted in that article is totally due to United States (US) colonialism! Thus, the best way to fix that is by decolonization. Why aren’t candidates talking about that?

Puerto Rico is the oldest and most populated colony in the world. Do you know that the USG had Puerto Rico taken off the United Nations’ (UN) list of colonies in 1953 by lying to the UN? The USG alleged that Puerto Rico had attained self-government in 1952. If that were true, why are more Puerto Ricans living away from their national territory today?

Puerto Ricans are the ones who must empower ourselves. That is called a revolution!

That could look like the almost 9 million Puerto Ricans engaging in permanent resistance to force the USG to comply with the UN’s Charter that prohibits colonialism since 1945, and its 38 resolutions asking it to return immediately Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. http://webtv.un.org/watch/5th-meeting-committee-of-24-special-committee-on-decolonization/6051725003001/

Puerto Ricans are the only one who can save themselves. We don’t have to wait for Election Day. We must, however, organize ourselves in order to push together!

Let’s get started, because those who are solely responsible for Puerto Ricans abandoning our homeland, don’t believe in LIBERTY AND IN JUSTICE FOR ALL! https://www.facebook.com/groups/1697349163904877/

Puerto Ricans are the only one who can save ourselves.
