The US military is not to defend her, but to create situations around the world to make US oligarchs even richer. That was the essence of Major General Smedley Butler’s book, War is a Racket. And the world knows it, as it has named, in multiple Gallup Polls, the US as the biggest threat to peace!
That is why in 1898, the US militarily invaded Puerto Rico to make her its colony. That is why the US has never complied with the United Nations’ (UN) Charter of 1945 that prohibits colonialism for being a crime against humanity.
