Western values do not benefit 99% of US citizens. While 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are US citizens, 40 million Americans live in poverty, and 201 million more live from paycheck to paycheck.
Western values do not benefit Puerto Ricans either. The US has consistently refused to comply with 42 United Nations’ resolutions demanding the immediate return of Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned their national territory in the meantime (gentrification), and half of the people in Puerto Rico live in poverty too!
The US has the audacity to call itself the «champion of democracy». What would you then call the People’s Republic of China that has eradicated poverty in 2020, despite having 4 times the US’ population?
Western values equal imperialism.
