Institutionalized US White Supremacy

By José M. López Sierra – Puerto Rico

What was the cause of the so-called, “Civil Rights Movement”? If Blacks were United States (US) citizens, why would they need to fight for their civil rights in their own country? Blacks had to, because the US government saw them as still slaves. Therefore, the “Civil Rights Movement” was really a slave insurrection. Puerto Ricans have also been a victim of white supremacy. The US government (USG) militarily invaded Puerto Rico in 1898 to make her its colony. At the time of the invasion, Puerto Rico had already acquired self-government from Spain. Therefore, the USG can’t argue that it was liberating Puerto Ricans from Spanish colonialism!

Evidence of this is the fact that the USG has never complied with the Charter of the United Nations (UN) that prohibits colonialism since 1945. Moreover, the USG has ignored 38 UN resolutions asking it to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. http://webtv.un.org/watch/5th-meeting-committee-of-24-special-committee-on-decolonization/6051725003001/

99% of US citizens are witnessing the chaos caused by the USG representing only the 1%. What are “We the People” going to do? http://www.todosunidosdescolonizarpr.blogspot.com/

Is our government of by and for the people?

Jose M Lopez Ismael
