Getting a taste of the US’ own medicine

How many times the United States (US) government (USG) has toppled democratically elected governments of other nations, simply because the 1% of US citizens can’t exploit them? https://www.cato.org/publications/commentary/regime-change-hard-habit-break

This is, however, exactly what domestically happened at the US Capitol in Washington DC on Wednesday, January 6, 2021.

The 1% of US citizens controls the USG, no matter which political party wins. Trump, however, decided to continue as president, even if a coup d’état is necessary.

There is talk about prosecuting Trump for seditious conspiracy to overthrow the USG. That was exactly what Oscar Lopez Rivera was erroneously found guilty of, and spent 36 years in prison. Oscar, however, was fighting for the liberation of his homeland, which he has a right to do under international law. Puerto Rico is still a US colony after 122 years. http://webtv.un.org/watch/5th-meeting-committee-of-24-special-committee-on-decolonization/6051725003001/

The charge of seditious complicacy to overthrow the USG fits perfectly for what Trump did. He attempted to overthrow the legitimate authority of his own government.

Jailing Trump, however, will not get USG to govern for 100% of its citizens. US citizens will have to organize themselves to do that. If we don’t, the USG will go back to business as usual.

We should not want to return to business as usual.
