Contempt for the UN

By José M. López Sierra

The United States (US) has a long history of meddling in the internal affairs of other nations. The US’ current proxy war against Russia in Ukraine started when it removed the democratically elected president of Ukraine. The US did that, so that Washington could attempt to bring Ukraine into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Now, Ukraine is destroyed like many other countries that the US has meddled in.

The US hopes that people won’t realize that that is exactly what the US has consistently denied Puerto Rico for the past 126 years. The fact of the matter is that the US has refused to comply with 42 United Nations’ (UN) resolutions demanding that it immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans.

This video never mentioned the fact that, unlike Puerto Rico, Taiwan is legally a part of the People’s Republic of China.

The US likes to talk about a “Rules Based Order”. Are meddling in the affairs of other nations, removing democratically elected governments, imposing illegal economic sanctions on nations, ignoring international law, and unconditionally supporting genocide examples of a “Rules Based Order”?

They can’t be, because the world regards the US as the biggest threat to peace.

No respect no peace.
