Complicating PR decolonization

By José M. López Sierra – Puerto Rico

Many Puerto Ricans have complicated our decolonization, by ignoring the fact that colonialism has been a crime against humanity for the past 76 years!

If Puerto Ricans were to realize that the United Nations has asked the United States government (USG), in 39 resolutions, to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans, why would we want to do it in the manner that Ricky Roselló is describing in the following video? The problem with elections and plebiscites in Puerto Rico is that, as a colony, elections in Puerto Rico are not free elections. Puerto Ricans have no rights that the USG has to respect. That is what the Treaty of Paris of 1898 says, and it is still the law of the land.

Therefore, Puerto Ricans ought to be engaged in permanent resistance to force the USG to comply with the UN’s Charter that prohibits colonialism since 1945. After we are free, and, if we want, and if the USG agrees, Puerto Rico could then become the 51st states of the Union like Ricky wants. http://webtv.un.org/watch/5th-meeting-committee-of-24-special-committee-on-decolonization/6051725003001

Learning our real history will make it easy for us to see clearly what we must do to decolonize ourselves. The plan is to resist now, tomorrow and forever! www.TodosUnidosDescolonizarPR.blogspot.com

Simplify Puerto Rico decolonization by learning our history.

Jose M Lopez Ismael
