¿Cómo se descolonizará a PR? / How will PR be decolonized?

¿Sería posibles tener elecciones democráticas en una colonia? ¿Sería posible que los puertorriqueños logremos gobernarnos a través de las elecciones coloniales en Puerto Rico? ¿Sería posible que el Gobierno de Estados Unidos (GEU) nos descolonice? El impero nos ha virado al revés para mantenernos colonizados. Veamos la evidencia:

1. El GEU administra a Puerto Rico únicamente para sus intereses, aunque Puerto Rico es de los puertorriqueños
2. Hay más puertorriqueños fuera que dentro de Puerto Rico
3. Los puertorriqueños importamos en barcos carísimos estadounidense el 85% de lo que consumimos, aunque Puerto Rico puede producir todos los alimentos que necesitamos
4. Los puertorriqueños somos ciudadanos de un país que no es el nuestro
5. El GEU recluta la mayor cantidad de soldados en Puerto Rico que en ninguno de los 50 estados de la Unión. ¿Cómo es posible que un gobierno reclute gente de otra nación a un nivel más alto que los mismos ciudadanos de primera clase de su nación?

El problema es que la ONU se creó en el 1945 por los ganadores de la segunda guerra mundial. Esos ganadores son los que tienen colonias. ¡Por lo tanto, ellos diseñaron a la ONU para hacer lo que le dé la gana con impunidad!

Sin embargo, existe la ley internacional que dice que toda nación tiene el derecho inalienable a su auto-determinación e independencia. Pero para exigirlo, los puertorriqueños tendríamos que primero descolonizar nuestras mentes. ¡Eso no será fácil!

Los puertorriqueños tenemos una historia de más de 500 años viviendo en el coloniaje. Los gobiernos españoles y americanos nos han condicionados virándonos al revés para que no nos opongamos a ser esclavizados.

Los puertorriqueños, por lo tanto, tendríamos que aprender nuestra verdadera historia para entender la necesidad de hacer una resistencia permanente para obligar al GEU a cumplir con la Carta de la ONU y sus 38 resoluciones pidiéndole que le devuelva inmediatamente la soberanía de Puerto Rico a los puertorriqueños. http://webtv.un.org/watch/5th-meeting-committee-of-24-special-committee-on-decolonization/6051725003001/

Is it possible to have democratic elections in a colony? Is it possible for Puerto Ricans to achieve real self-government via the colonial elections in Puerto Rico? It is possible for the United States Government (USG) to decolonize Puerto Rico? The empire has turned us up-side-down to keep us colonized. Here is the evidence:

1. The USG governs Puerto Rico exclusively for its interests, although Puerto Rico belongs to the Puerto Ricans
2. More Puerto Ricans live out than in their own national territory
3. Puerto Ricans import on expensive United States ships 85% of what we eat, even though we could produce all the food that we need
4. Puerto Ricans are citizens of a country that is not theirs
5. The USG recruits more soldiers for its armed forces in Puerto Rico than in any of the 50 states of the Union. How is it possible that a government recruits more people of another nation at a higher rate than the 1^st class citizens of its own nation?

The United Nations (UN) will not decolonize us, regardless whether Puerto Rico is on or off the UN’s list of colonies. Neither will the UN decolonize us even if our case were to be discussed at the UN’s general assembly.

The problem is that the UN was created in 1945 by the winners of World War II. Those winners are the ones that have colonies. Therefore, they designed the UN to do whatever they want with impunity!

Nevertheless, the international law does exist giving all nations the inalienable right to self-determination and independence. To demand it, however, Puerto Ricans must first decolonize our minds. That will not be easy!

Puerto Ricans have a history of over 500 years of living under colonialism. The Spanish and American governments have conditioned us turning our world up-side-down so that we would not oppose being enslaved.

Puerto Ricans, therefore, will have to learn our real history to understand the need to engage in permanent resistance to force the USG to comply with the UN’s Charter and its 38 resolutions asking it to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. http://webtv.un.org/watch/5th-meeting-committee-of-24-special-committee-on-decolonization/6051725003001/
