The United States (US) is designed to keep its citizens poor, and to make oligarchs as rich as possible. That is why the US government distributes 70% of the nation’s wealth to the top 10% of its citizens, and only 30% for the rest of us. The US lies when it says that it is the champion of democracy. That is impossible, when 38 million Americans live in poverty and 201 million more live from paycheck to paycheck, while 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are Americans too.
That is impossible, when the US has consistently ignored 43 United Nations’ resolutions demanding the immediate return of Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. In the meantime, 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned their national territory, and half of the 3 million people in Puerto Rico live in poverty too.
And, that is impossible, when the US is presently supporting the genocide against the indigenous people of Palestine against international law.
The US is the home of institutionalized imperialism.
