Therefore, how could the US be the champion of democracy, when the world considers it the biggest threat to peace?
How could the US be the champion of democracy, when 40 million Americans live today in poverty, and another 201 million live from paycheck to paycheck, while 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are Americans too.
How could the US be the champion of democracy, when the US consistently ignores 43 United Nations’ (UN) resolutions demanding the immediate return of Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. In the meantime, 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned their national territory (gentrification), and half of the 3 million people in Puerto Rico live in poverty too. The UN’s annual Puerto Rico decolonization hearing was on Monday, June 16, 2025.
And how could the US be the champion of democracy, when it is supporting today the genocide against the indigenous people of Palestine against international law?
