The United States (US) could not care less about human rights. If it did, would the US have committed genocide against the indigenous people of North America to establish its own nation, and would it be now unconditionally supporting the also artificial colonial settler state of Israel in its genocide against the indigenous people of Palestine?
The US says that it has significant interest in the future of Hong Kong. The US is prohibited by international law to interfere with the sovereignty of another nation. Please click on this link to know how the US, the so called “champion of democracy” does that anyway: https://youtu.be/CfzFRtteOO4
Imagine if the People’s Republic of China were to also say that she has significant interest in the future of Puerto Rico? China would not do that, because she respects the rule of law!
Where is the US’ defense of Puerto Ricans’ human rights, as Puerto Rico has been a US colony for the past 127 years?
Where is the US’ defense of Puerto Ricans’ human rights, as it has consistently refused to comply with 42 United Nations’ resolutions demanding that it immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans?
And, where is the US’ defense of Puerto Ricans’ human rights, as 6 million Puerto Ricans (67%) live today away from our national territory (gentrification), and half of the 3 million who live in Puerto Rico live in poverty?
The US cares only about its imperialism!
