A greater insult to Puerto Ricans

The 9 million Puerto Ricans worldwide are up in arms about the comment that Puerto Rico is garbage made by a comedian at Donald Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden. Please click on this link for more: https://youtu.be/QuU9eg9-sGI
Puerto Rico has been a United States’ (US) colony for the past 126 years. Two thirds, or 6 million Puerto Ricans, live today away from our national territory, and half of those who have remained live in poverty!
The US, which claims to be the champion of democracy, has consistently refused to comply with 42 United Nations’ resolutions demanding that it should immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k1w/k1wb1xdn6i https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k15/k154ku9q8x
The fact that the US is willfully depriving Puerto Rico from its inalienable right to self-determination and independence is more of an insult than the US calling Puerto Rico garbage.
Why don’t Puerto Ricans channel our outrage into permanent resistance to force the US to comply with international law?
A greater insult deserve a greater response!
