The United States (US) criticizes the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China for having authoritative governments, and that is why, it claims, they are not democracies. A government must be strong in order to control oligarchs from extracting all the wealth from the 99% of its citizens. If a government is not, you end up like the US where 38 million Americans live in poverty, and 60% live from paycheck to paycheck, while 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are US citizens.
US “democracy” has earned itself the infamy of being the biggest threat to peace. And who could argue with that today, when the US is unconditionally supporting the genocide of the indigenous people of Palestine against international law!
The right kind of authoritarianism is necessary for a real democracy.
