UN: instrument for US imperialism

The United States (US) was the only member of the United Nations (UN) Security Council (UNSC) to vote against the resolution that would have condemned Hamas’ attack on Israel while calling for a pause in the fighting to deliver life-saving aid to millions in Gaza. How could the US’ veto of that resolution be evidence to her allegations of being the champion of democracy, the rule of law, and human rights?
On the contrary, the US is the champion of making money for her oligarchs, which includes those in the military industrial complex. That is how 8 of the 10 richest men in the world are US citizens, while 38 million Americans today live in poverty.
Conversely, the People’s Republic of China, also a permanent member of the UNSC, voted for the resolution. It is important to mention that China has already eliminated her poverty in 2020, despite having 4 times the US’ population.
To further highlight the US’ hypocrisy, let’s take the US’ alleged “support for Taiwan’s inalienable right to self-determination and independence”. If that were true, why has the US consistently ignored 42 UN resolutions asking her to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans?
