How could the United States (US) claim to be the champion of democracy, when today she has imposed illegal economic sanctions on a third of the nations of the world?
Fortunately, the BRICS nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) that today make up a third of the world and represent 40% of the world’s population have a greater gross domestic product than the G7 (Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom, and US). The US says that she likes to negotiate with nations from a position of strength. It is important to note that she makes no reference to international law.
The US prefers to refer to something that she calls the “Rules Based Order”. That could only mean the 800 military bases that she has around the world, and her use of illegal economic sanctions to coerce nations to follow her dictates.
Most people are unaware, since there is no US free press, that the US has ignored 41 United Nations (UN) resolutions asking her to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. The US, therefore, is willfully committing another crime against humanity. This month, the UN will once again hold its annual Puerto Rico decolonization hearing, and again issue yet another similar resolution.
