After the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, capitalism felt that it could now show its ugly face. Capitalism only creates wealth for the oligarchs. Capitalism, therefore is the farthest thing to democracy. The United States government (USG), however, uses the word “democracy” to make its oligarchs even richer. The USG talks about the rule based order (RBO). The RBO are rules that the USG unilaterally makes, and expects the world to follow. The RBO is entirely different than international law, which the USG never obeys. Here is one good example of that.
The United Nations (UN) considers colonialism a crime against humanity since 1945. The UN has asked the USG in 40 resolutions to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. Not only has the USG refused to do so, the USG says, from the other side of its mouth, that it supports the independence of Taiwan.
