What Boricuas must understand is that we can’t solve that problem without solving the bigger one.
Boriken, the indigenous people’s name for Puerto Rico, has been a United States (US) colony for the past 124 years. According to the Treaty of Paris of 1898, the rights of Puerto Ricans shall be determined by the US government (USG). That is to say that Puerto Ricans have no right that the USG has to respect. Since the purpose of colonialism is exploitation, the net result has been that more Boricuas today reside outside of our own national territory. Moreover, about half of the Boricuas living in Boriken today live in poverty. So you see, the problem is much larger than the privatization of public beaches. The solution is, however, about putting pressure!
Because colonialism is a crime against humanity, the 9 million Boricuas worldwide should engage in permanent resistance to force the USG to comply with the 40 United Nations resolutions asking it to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. https://todosunidosdescolonizarpr.blogspot.com/
