PR must be proactive in self-determination

By José M. López Sierra – Puerto Rico

Most Puerto Ricans are engaged in the wrong discourse. It is the one that the United States government (USG) wants us to be engaged in.  Click on the following link to witness that discourse: https://youtu.be/kM4RkmuGM1s

It is impossible for a colony to have a healthy economy for its colonized people. That would be totally against the reason why the USG militarily invaded Puerto Rico to make her its colony!

The USG’s plan for the past 123 years has been to make it difficult for Puerto Ricans to live in our national territory. That has resulted in the fact that, today, more Puerto Ricans, about 5 million, live away from Puerto Rico (about 3.2).

The PROMESA bill is designed to make more Puerto Ricans abandon our homeland. Once the USG accomplishes that, and is able to repopulate Puerto Rico with Whites, then it will make her the 51st state of the Union.

How could Puerto Ricans become proactive in our struggle for self-determination and independence?

We must acknowledge that the USG is committing a crime against humanity by having refused for the past 76 years to comply with the United Nations’ (UN) Charter that prohibits colonialism. That international law is above the USG’s PROMESA law.

We must also acknowledge that the USG has ignored 39 UN resolutions asking it to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. That again, is above the USG’s PROMESA law. http://webtv.un.org/watch/5th-meeting-committee-of-24-special-committee-on-decolonization/6051725003001/

We must, therefore, promise ourselves that we will engage in permanent resistance to force the USG to finally comply with international law! If we don’t, Puerto Rico will become the 51st state of the Union, but with a majority of Whites living in our homeland! www.TodosUnidosDescolonizarPR.blogspot.com

Can Puerto Ricans see the writing on our Old San Juan city wall?

Jose M Lopez Ismael
