Who’s the radical?

by José M. López Sierra – Puerto Rico

The United States’ (US) press called the 4 Puerto Ricans Nationalists who attacked the US Congress on March 1, 1954 radicals. Most people accepted that characterization, because most people are ignorant of history. If people were not, they would have known who the real radical is. The United States Government (USG) has had Puerto Rico as its colony for 120 years, despite the fact that it is against the 1945 United Nations’ (UN) Charter to do so. Where is the USG’s respect for the rule of law? It is obvious that the rule of law is for everybody else, but the USG. Here is another example of the USG’s contempt for the rule of law.

The UN has issued 36 resolutions asking the USG to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. The USG has ignored them all! The UN will issue another one after this years’ annual Puerto Rico decolonization hearing on Monday, June 18, 2018. Join us on our annual protest march from Hunter College to the UN on that day to draw attention to the USG’ criminal behavior! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otzBslJLbI0

Do you know that people under colonialism have the right to use any means necessary to decolonize their homeland? The 4 Puerto Ricans Nationalists had the right under international law to have attacked the US House of Representatives. Therefore, the real radical is the USG for maintaining Puerto Rico as its colony against international law since 1898. And this has been done premeditatedly!

Do you know that the USG made sure after the American-Spanish War, that the Treaty of Paris of 1898 said that the rights of the natives ceded by Spain would be determined by the United States? That language was taken from the slave court case of Dred Scott vs Sanford.

The US Supreme Court decided in that case that Blacks, whether free or not, had no right that the USG had to respect. The USG converted Puerto Ricans into its slaves by purposefully putting that language in the treaty! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mytk800mUn0&t=27

How do Puerto Ricans decolonize their homeland? We must begin with learning our history ourselves. That would teach us not to fight one another, because we are not the enemy.

We must unite to engage in permanent resistance to force the USG to comply with the will of the international community.

We will need a tsunami of people to do this, because those who have gone out of their way to enslave us don’t believe in LIBERTY AND IN JUSTICE FOR ALL! https://www.facebook.com/groups/1697349163904877/
