Chapter Minority Civic Engagement Coming to Central Florida


ORLANDO, FL –Latino Leadership Institute which was recently selected as a “Bright Spots in Hispanic Education Fulfilling America’s Future by the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics” is establishing a permanent chapter and training academy in Central Florida.
The Central Florida academy is scheduled to begin January 2016, in partnership with a local university system and non-profit partners. “The minority commun
ities in Central Florida have increased significantly and it is our duty to educate, empower, engage, and mobilize their civic
power” said Amy Mercado, the chapter’s newly selected Director.
