An example of Puerto Rican Americanization

José M. López Sierra – Puerto Rico

Here is a recent interview with the United States’ (US) colonial administrator for the city of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Click on this link to see it:  https://youtu.be/xA1Z3-PgvZA

It is important to note that she said that she favors Puerto Rico having a free association political relationship with the US government. That alone proves that her mind has been successfully molded to what the United States government wants every Puerto Rican to believe. The US government will never change on its own the colonial relationship it has had foe 6 generations. If anyone believe otherwise, he has not studied carefully the history. A great book to begin would be, La Lucha por la Independencia de Puerto Rico by Juan Antonio Corretjer (1949). https://www.keepandshare.com/doc/6462438/01lucha-por-la-independ-pdf-517k?da=y

Notice how she uses the US’ euphemisms to hide US crime against Puerto Rico. An example of this is when she said that, “Spain gave Puerto Rico to the United States after the Spanish American War of 1898”.

The fact of the matter is that the US government forced that war to establish itself as an imperial power. That was not as innocently as Carmen Yulin makes it out to be. But she is telling it the way the US government wants it told.

What many people, including Carmen, are confused about is that it doesn’t matter what political relationship Puerto Ricans want. People might want to argue, but that is not democratic! Neither was the US invasion of Puerto Rico. Nor has it been democratic the US military occupation of Puerto Rico for the last 120 years.

What matters is that the US government must return immediately Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. You can verify that by reading the United Nation’s (UN) Charter, which the US is a member state of.

Moreover, The US government has ignored 36 UN resolutions asking the it to immediately decolonize Puerto Rico. The UN is in its 3rd decade trying to eradicate colonialism. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otzBslJLbI0

Carmen talked about the many Puerto Ricans who have left their homeland, and how many wealth Americans have moved to Puerto Rico to replace them. The Puerto Rican nationalist Pedro Albizu Campos said in the 1930’s that the US wanted the cage, and not the birds. That is what history has shown us since 1898.

Those of us who have escaped being brainwashed must unite to force the US government to comply with international law, because those who rob other people lands don’t believe in LIBERTY AND IN JUSTICE FOR ALL! https://www.facebook.com/groups/1697349163904877/
